My Favorite Martian

Some say it takes a big man to step up and apologize for his mistakes. Well, I'm not a big man.

Duhon still belongs on the bench.

Today though, he had the best game of his career in the most important game of his career. Duhon guarded Wade well, hit a big leaner late, and added 6 rebounds along with 2 assists and 2 steals.

Here's a recap of Duhon's 4th quarter activities via ESPN's play-by-play data:

9:56, 61-70 (Bulls leading), Dwyane Wade blocks Chris Duhon's 7-foot jumper
comment: Why is Duhon shooting over Wade?

7:41, 69-72, Chris Duhon enters the game for Luol Deng
comment: I question Skiles' sanity, Deng is my favorite player on the Bulls along with Tyson. I get nervous whenever Duhon touches the ball.

3:05, 80-82, Chris Duhon defensive rebound
comment: First thing he's done in nearly 5 minutes. Big board, Duhon rebounds well for a guard.

1:53, 83-83, Chris Duhon defensive rebound
comment: Does it again, makes me proud to be a Bulls fan. Miracles happen.

1:42, 83-85, Chris Duhon makes 8-foot two point shot (Kirk Hinrich assists)
comment: WOW! Huge driving leaner over the Diesel and others. Duhon has big nads! Gives the Bulls the lead.

1:08, 83-88, Kirk Hinrich makes 27-foot three point jumper (Chris Duhon assists)
comment: This is the play credited by ESPN as the shot of the game. It wasn't. The key was Duhon's leaner with 1:53 to go as that shot put the Bulls ahead to stay. Hinrich was the pastry chef, Duhon the one who cooked the meal.

For one day, my goal became my hero.

Props to Duhon for a great performance. Thank you.
