I'VE GOT DOUBLES OF HIM

So it seems as though I win when I don’t post my picks but I am going to attempt to break that pattern. Last night, Buerhle gave up 7 runs in the first inning and got the win as the Sox rallied to win 9-7. The last pitcher to allow 7 or more runs in the first inning and get the win was Jack Powell for St. Louis in 1900. The Sox also turned a triple play, which the team last accomplished in 2004... that underscores just how uncommon Buerhle's victory was. Though with Ozzie Guillen's infatuation with his pitchers pitching through their problems, having them go deep into games, showing trust in his starters and saving the bullpen, we might see this again well within the next 106 years.
